Working with the Properties panel


The Properties panel is one of the most important and most widely used panels of Captivate. In this section, you will take some time to inspect the Properties panel in more detail. For this exercise, you will use the Chapter03/encoderDemo_800.cptx file.

Note

The Chapter03/final folder contains the completed projects as they are supposed to be at the end of this chapter. If you are confused by any exercise, use these projects as references.

In Captivate 8, the Properties panel is hidden by default, so your first task is to turn it on using the following steps:

  1. Click on the Properties icon situated at the right-hand side of the Big Buttons Bar to open the Properties panel.

  2. Click on the same icon a second time to toggle the Properties panel back off.

  3. In the Filmstrip panel, double-click on any slide. This also opens the Properties panel.

    In Captivate, double-clicking on an object opens the Properties panel of the object that has been double-clicked.
