Time for action – assigning a user to communities and organizations


  1. Log in to Liferay using administrator user (Jeff Mcclure) and go to the Control Panel.

  2. First, you will add a regular user to the site. Click on the Users link from the Portal section and click on the Add button. It will open a screen similar to the New User screen.

  3. Enter the following data in the fields:

    • Screen name: markb , Email Address: mark.bensar@cignex.com

    • First Name: Mark, Last Name: Bensar, Birth date: 12, January, 1960

  4. After that, click on the Save button. It will add a new user and show the profile of the user.

  5. Now click on the Password link from the User Information section and change the password for Mark to test123. Also, select the Password Reset Required checkbox. This will ensure that the user will be asked to change the password on first login. Click on the Save button to save changes.

  6. Now go to Portal | Communities. Click on the Action button next to CIGNEX Neighbourhood community. It will open a pop-up menu...
