Chapter 3. Functional Validation – Phase 1 and Installing Secondary Nodes

When I started writing this chapter, I developed a sense of relief since we have already accomplished the taxing part of the installation. In order to reinforce that the installation is operational, we will perform the validation test of our setup in this chapter with the following steps:

  • Creating a tenant
  • Adding tenant and infrastructure administrator users
  • Adding licensing
  • Checking the DEM status

Once the preceding validation test is successful, we will proceed with the installation of the remaining IaaS nodes and complete the distributed architecture. For a quick recap, in Chapter 2, Distributed Installation Using Custom Certificates, we installed and configured the identity management appliance, vPostgres DB, CAFÉ nodes (cluster), IaaS components (Web, Manager Service, DEM Orchestrator, DEM Worker, and proxy agents) that establishes the foundation for the vRealize Automation solution.
