The concept of an ideal IT system
Before we detail the different parts of such an ideal system, I will explain a bit more about the usefulness of such a model. When things are a bit clearer about the goal we want to reach, we will detail the different parts of the concept and try to make them more concrete.
The use for an ideal structure
“Ideal” or “utopic” are terms that engineers generally have a strange relationship with. Though much of their thinking is done inside hypothetical contexts to make an advance in theory, they know that practice will always be quite a long shot from the theory and, depending on how they are versed between theory and practice, engineers can easily fall into many traps:
- Staying purely in theory risks that their thinking is never applied in the real world, which ends up in a loss of time and also an impossibility of truly knowing the value of their work.
