Conventions used
There are a number of text conventions used throughout this book.
Code in text: Indicates code words in text, database table names, folder names, filenames, file extensions, pathnames, dummy URLs, user input, and Twitter handles. Here is an example: ”These lines of code represent the declarations of the Tick()
and BeginPlay()
functions that are included in every Actor-based class by default.”
A block of code is set as follows:
// Called when the game starts or when spawned void APlayerProjectile::BeginPlay() { Super::BeginPlay(); } // Called every frame void APlayerProjectile::Tick(float DeltaTime) { Super::Tick(DeltaTime); }
Bold: Indicates a new term, an important word, or words that you see onscreen. For instance, words in menus or dialog boxes appear in bold. Here is an example: “From the Open Level dialog box, navigate to /ThirdPersonCPP/Maps to find SideScrollerExampleMap.”
