Networking is one of the core components of microservice application architecture. Faster networks allowed the evolution of distributed architectures. High availability and resilience can be provided using modern infrastructures, even on cloud or cloud-hybrid architectures. Containers work like small virtual nodes and they get virtual interfaces. We learned that network namespaces allow us to isolate processes on the same host, even if they use the same bridge interface to communicate with the real network, out of the host's network namespaces. Distributed networking on clusters is also simple because Docker Swarm manages all the internal infrastructures and processes required to allow communication between containers on different hosts.
