Introduction

Software will never last if it inappropriately exposes sensitive information, makes the user suffer through interminable wait times, or requires extensive amounts of hardware. It is our responsibility as developers to make sure that applications are secure and performant. In this chapter, we will examine just some of the many ways we can keep our users (and yourself) safe while operating within Django applications. Then, we'll cover a few options for caching that can reduce processing and get data to users at a lower expense in terms of money and time.
