Objective 8.2 – Create and Deploy Host Profiles

The Host Profiles feature available in vSphere 6.5 allows you to create a host profile template that includes the ESXi configuration, ensuring all deployed hosts have the same configuration across the network and providing a configuration standard in respect of the setup policy an organization may have. Recommended especially in large environments, Host Profiles can be combined with the Auto Deploy feature to automate the provisioning process, ensuring deployed host services match your infrastructure.

If you have to manually set up a large number of hosts, the procedure takes a lot of time and a mistake during the configuration may be made at any point. For example, a wrong IP address assigned or a wrong switch setup may cause service disruption.
