Objective 4.2 – Perform vCenter Server Upgrades (Windows)

vCenter Server is a core component of the vSphere infrastructure service that centralizes the management of the ESXI hosts and the VMs that run on the hypervisor. vCenter Server also provides advanced features, such as sign-on server, centralized authentication, vMotion, DRS, HA, and FT. Also, management of resources, logs and stats, alarms, and events comes into play when vCenter Server is present in the infrastructure.

VMware vCenter Server can be installed on a physical or virtual Windows machine, or can be deployed as a vCSA. The installation of vCenter Server is now supported by Windows, macOS Sierra 10.12, and Linux OS.
