Selecting and downloading an animation clip from Mixamo

In the previous recipe, we downloaded a 3D character model from Mixamo. In this recipe, we’ll download an animation clip from Mixamo. In the next recipe, we’ll bring the character to life as an NPC in a Unity project.

Getting ready

This recipe uses the free Adobe Mixamo web application, so you’ll need to sign up for an account with them if you don’t have one already.

How to do it...

To select and download an animation clip from Mixamo, perform the following steps:

1. Open a web browser and visit Mixamo.com.
2. Sign up/log in with your Mixamo/Adobe account.
3. Click the Animations tab, and search for an appropriate “idle” animation. We like the Breathing Idle animation for NPCs that are animated as they stand in place in a scene.
