Fallback status point
The fallback status point provides Configuration Manager clients with a fallback server to contact if they fail client installation, site assignment, or are unable to communicate with their HTTPS management point. We should be aware that if the fallback status point is not referenced in the client installation string using the FSP=Server.domain.com
property then the client will not automatically use the fallback status point. The fallback status point is another low-key role that is generally installed in most environments unless there is a specific requirement not to. If someone was not involved in the initial installation of Configuration Manager, then it is possible that this role has been installed and the operator is not actually aware of it.
