Getting Data In
Welcome to Part 2 of this book, dedicated to Splunk data administration. In the previous chapters, we focused on Splunk system administration, covering essential topics such as installation, license configuration, user management, index creation, distributed search configuration, Splunk forwarder management, and Splunk Validated Architectures. Now, let’s imagine that you have a fully functional Splunk Enterprise instance with all the necessary system configurations in place. It is ready to receive and index data from various sources. In Chapter 1, we discussed the process of installing Splunk Enterprise in standalone mode. Please refer to the Splunk installation – standalone section for detailed instructions.
