Extending Redash code

In case just using the API doesn't suit all your needs, you are more than welcome to get into the code itself, and if the feature is useful for other people/organizations, it's more than encouraged to create a Pull Request and become a Redash Contributor.

Familiarity with Docker/Node.js/Python/Angular.js/React.js/Git is highly recommended.

Installing Redash for development

The first thing we need to do is install a local Redash for the development process.

There are two options to do this:

• Use a Docker-based development environment
• Use a regular development environment
• Connect to a remote server while running the frontend locally
