So why do I care?

Just over 26 years ago, I was travelling with a group of friends and my teacher to sit an exam. The means of transport we took to get to the exam center was a bullock cart. It used to be a common sight in my village in Tamil Nadu in India. The village is called Melagaram, about 5 miles from the border of Tamil Nadu and Kerala, at the foothills of the Western Ghats mountain range.

There used to be a time when we could go to the terrace of our house and see the waterfalls called Main Falls. It is one of the top tourism spots of southern India, regularly visited during the months of June to August by people across the globe. It is a beautiful village, and I still have dreams of working from "Home," as in from my village.

The school where I spent most of my years was called Hilton Matriculation School. It was led by a charismatic Mr. Bell; someone we all respect and love. We all have many memories of the school. It was based just a mile away...
