Using search analytics to see what people are searching for


Understanding what your colleagues are searching for is essential in ensuring that you are presenting the right information on your SharePoint sites. SharePoint's search analytics reports give you this.

Getting ready

This recipe works for:

  • SharePoint 2010 Standard Edition

  • SharePoint 2010 Enterprise Edition

  • Office 365 (SharePoint Online)

Web analytics must have been enabled by your SharePoint administrator. You will need the Full Control permission to run this recipe.

How to do it...

  1. Open the S ite Settings menu and select the Site Actions option.

  2. Click on the Site Collection Web Analytics reports link.

  3. The Site Collection Web Analytics Reports Summary screen is displayed.

  4. Select Top Queries link.

  5. The Top Queries report is displayed.
