Browsers
A modern browser for any user should cover the following requirements:
- Support all modern web technologies (e.g., HTML5, the latest CSS and JavaScript additions, video and audio content, notifications, etc.).
- Any rich website such as Facebook or LinkedIn must work fast and flawlessly.
- Plugins should be easy to add and available.
- It should have, by default, at least mid-level security, and higher levels should be configurable.
- RAM and CPU use should be acceptable, combined with stability, even when tens of tabs are open.
- Any potential web-based activity tracking should not be present in it. Thus, any proprietary browsers such as Google Chrome are not an option.
From all web browsers, I tested only those available directly in all official Manjaro flavors. They are in three categories – Firefox, Chromium-based (Brave, Vivaldi, and Opera), and others. I recommend only the first two. (Tor is the only good one from the last category but...
