Summary
We have reached the end of this brief introduction on how to get started with Dynamo. In this chapter, we explored what a VPL is, what Dynamo is, and how and why companies and professionals are using it as a way to automate and manage models. We also learned in a very visual way the basics pertaining to the interface, the nodes, and the data types so that we are ready to take our first confident steps with this powerful software. Lastly, we got down to business and created our first two scripts, which will allow us to export parameter values from families to Excel and re-import them by changing all the values accordingly. As we have learned in previous chapters, companies are moving toward an increasingly data-driven business model. This means that the demand for professionals who understand programming logic will be growing in the AEC industry. As a result of this chapter and this book, you will be better prepared for the challenges that will come next.
