In this chapter, we concentrated on understanding the basics of using elementary sensors as well as integrated sensor modules with the Arduino Uno board. We looked at how common electronic components such as photodiodes and photo resistors can be used for detection of light with detailed hands-on examples.
In the later section of the chapter, we learned how to use integrated sensor modules by understanding their datasheets. We learned to use a temperature sensor module and a soil moisture sensor module.
Using the basic fundamentals that you learned in this chapter, you should attempt more elementary sensors as well as integrated sensor modules on your own.
In the next chapter, we are going to learn how to build compound devices. Learning to build compound device prototypes is the first step to start building more real-world devices with the Arduino platform.
