As we approach the end of our journey, this final chapter delves into current industry standards and methodologies for reporting software carbon emissions, analyzing ongoing efforts to establish consensus on metrics normalization. We will also explore what we imagine the future of green software engineering can be by envisioning developments in policy, technology, and user behavior, underscoring the increasing importance of environmental considerations in software development.
