Chapter 9. Raising the Curtain on Plays
Plays are pretty much like movies except for the car chase scenes (just kidding). There are differences but Celtx assists us in mastering those differences and writing for the stage.
In this chapter, we will cover:
Act I, Scene I—writing a play: We will learn about dramatic stage plays and outline a play using Celtx's Theatre editor's Text element
Starting a theatre project: We will learn how to set up a project container for our play
Play elements: Act, Scene, Stage Direction, Character, Dialog, Parenthetical, and Transition
Printing our plays
Keeping track of the cast
Using what we've learned previously and the new material that will be presented in this chapter, we will be able to write exciting, professionally-formatted stage plays.
