Creating a branched story
Branching provides a way of directing the viewer to a particular slide, which may not be the next slide in the presentation. It is referred to as branching because the slide can be changed depending upon the answer that the user selects for a particular question. In its simplest form, branching would take a user who gives the right answer to one location and to another location for a wrong answer.
This idea can be expanded upon by using multiple-choice questions as a directory, to direct the user to one of several different locations. It can also be used in a quiz situation to provide an opportunity for the learner to review the information and retake the question if they get it wrong.
Branching always takes the user to another slide within the presentation. This is selectable for each answer. By allowing branching at every question, extremely complicated presentations can be made, customizing the presentation according to the needs of the viewer.
