Earlier in this chapter, we learned how to create path baselines. A baseline is nothing but an accepted or test software/patch level for ESXi hosts in a vSphere infrastructure. Once we have baselines formed, we can use them to remediate ESXi hosts to the required patch level. Remediation refers to the process of installing the desired patches or upgrades on ESXi hosts to make them compliant with the baseline.
