Chapter 7. Using Material Instances
Instancing iswhere you take a parent material and make copies of it that have differences within them. This was already touched upon in theInstancing a materialrecipe inChapter 3, Opaque Materials and Texture Mapping, but there are a lot of things that can be done with this concept.
