Using Team Chat

Team Chat is a very powerful part of the Zoom platform. Consider it the main method for collaborating and communicating with partners, coworkers, and customers asynchronously and in real time. Understanding the structure of Team Chat is paramount in using this tool to its fullest potential. In this recipe, we will walk through the main sections of Team Chat and introduce some basic concepts. In later recipes, we will dive into exactly how to use all the features.

Getting ready

1. Navigate to the Team Chat icon in your Zoom client’s top navigation bar:

There are three main areas of Team Chat, as highlighted in Figure 5.2:

• Section 1: This area is the left sidebar (darker area). This contains quick links to commonly used features.
