Sharing a portion of your screen
There may be times when you would like to share just a part of your screen or desktop. For example, I use a large 50” monitor as my main screen and run multiple applications at the same time. Sharing my entire desktop would be too much information for a meeting attendee. I might just want to share a small part of my screen, such as an application, picture, or code. Zoom has this feature and it’s very helpful when presenting.
How to do it…
- Start or join a Zoom meeting.
- Navigate to the Share Screen icon on your Meetings Control bar.
- Click on the Advanced tab of your share screen window. Then click Portion of Screen. It will be highlighted in blue. Then click Share.

- A green border outline will now appear on your screen. Anything within this border is shared with your meeting attendees.
