Summary

In this chapter, you learned about many of the recent innovations in the presentation tier, such as SPAs, Jamstack, and deploying at the edge of the cloud. We learned how to decompose the presentation tier using the micro frontends approach to create autonomous micro applications that allow us to tame the presentation tier and easily extend the system by adding new applications instead of modifying existing applications. We also dug into the details and learned advanced state management techniques that allow us to create PWAs that work offline and smoothly support regional failover.

In the next chapter, we will cover eventually consistent systems and see how turning events into facts promotes autonomy and resilience. We will create an event hub, dissect the Event Sourcing pattern, and learn how to implement stream processors.
