The Packt Gear approach
In the first part of this book, we explored the capabilities of the Salesforce products that could potentially complement a B2C solution architecture for Packt Gear. We settled on B2C Commerce, Service Cloud, Order Management, and Marketing Cloud for the initial release. In Chapter 7, Integration Architecture Options, we explored various ways of connecting these products and settled on point-to-point connectors for this phase.
Now, it's time to bring the customer data together. Packt Gear has the distinct advantage of letting you start from a new implementation, so we don't have to address concerns about Subscriber Key migration or potential data duplication. We'll focus on getting the customer data picture right from the start and avoiding future duplicates using matching rules and duplicate rules in the Salesforce Platform.
