SQLite 3.x is the latest version of the SQLite series of database technologies. Written in the C programming language, SQLite is a relational database management system that has continued to support more SQL standards as it progressed through several versions.

This means that many of the features you may be familiar with within SQL are available to use when creating a SQLite database.

SQLite has many uses, which include creating databases to embed in applications such as web browsers, or creating lightweight databases for embedded systems running on hardware such as the Raspberry Pi. Note

You can read more about the technology and the latest features it supports at http://www.sqlite.org/.
