Chapter 8

Refresher questions

1

Google AdWords is a great way to instantly advertise your products. This is especially true if you have something new or unique. You can also use Twitter for instant product promotions. Don't make a habit of this type of promotion on Twitter or you might lose followers. Never do this type of promotion on Facebook unless you have a very specific group and you are confident the message will be well received; you might get reported for spam.

2

Shops with repeat purchase products that have lots of competition.

3

Each post has a link to your profile and your profile can usually be linked to your web site. Search engines give value to this type of link. It is possible that a forum uses a type of link called nofollow. This would mean a search engine would not then associate the link from your profile to your website. However there is still enormous potential benefit from direct visits from the forums users. It is also possible that forum users who have their own web site might decide to link to you.

4

Search for blogs related to your industry. Often blog owners allow comments and often within these comments they allow links to your site. Just remember the rules. No obviously blatant promotions and make your comments valid to the specific blog article. And you could always start your own blog; there are lots of free ones and you can link to your site as much as you like. Have a look at these sites that offer free blogs:

1. www.blogspot.com

2. www.wordpress.com

3. www.blog.com
