Time for action – backing up your course
You'll find many, many options you can choose as we run through the backup procedure. At this stage it's best just to stick with the defaults and back up everything.
Once you've selected Backup from the Settings block you are taken to your Course Backup page. Simply leave the defaults as they are (where most options will be selected), scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Next.
The next page allows you to choose which topics you want to include in your backup. Again, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Next.
Now we can choose a name for our backup file. Moodle automatically creates a name for you, based on the time, date, and the course short name. You can leave it as it is, if you want to. This page also allows us to confirm all that we have specified so far. Assuming all is well, we can scroll to the bottom of the page and press the Perform backup button.
