Protecting a single Exchange mailbox database
This recipe will cover how to protect a single Exchange 2013 mailbox on a standalone server.
Getting ready
Before you start creating the Protection Group that holds the actual configuration for the backup schedule, you need to fulfill the following prerequisites:
The Exchange server you would like to protect is a supported version of the DPM 2012 R2 protection
A DPM agent is installed on all the servers that hold the data sources that you would like to protect
The DPM agent reports OK in the DPM console's Management workspace
How to do it...
Go to Protection and click on New in the DPM console.
In the Create New Protection Group Wizard Welcome step, click on Next > to continue. In Select protection group type, choose Servers and click on Next > to continue. In the Select group members step, expand the Exchange and select Mailbox Database that you would like to protect with DPM. Click on Next > to continue.
