Restoring file data from Azure


System Center 2012 R2 Data Protection Manager can interact seamlessly with Microsoft Azure, providing an online protection for file, SQL, and Hyper-V workloads. This recipe will cover how you restore file data from the Microsoft Azure recovery service backup vault.

Getting ready

To be able to recover data from the recovery service backup vault in your Microsoft Azure technology portal, you must have Internet connectivity and a valid recovery point that resides in Microsoft Azure. For more information regarding Azure integration with DPM and the backup vault recovery service, read Chapter 11, Azure integration.

How to do it…

  1. In the DPM console, go to Recovery and find the data source you would like to recover.

  2. Mark the data source and choose the data and time for the recovery. Right-click on the data source and choose Recover… to start the Recovery wizard.

  3. In the Review Recovery Selection step, review the items that you have chosen for recovery. To continue, click...
