An overview of the event-driven architecture and the event bus
At the time of writing, I have been working with the Salesforce platform for a little over 13 years. In that time, what started as a platform based primarily around sales and service-related applications has grown into a broad platform, delivering all manner of applications. In my work with Salesforce, I have delivered applications outside the traditional sales, service, and marketing to banks, insurers, pharmaceutical companies, research organizations, retailers, fashion brands, and charities, to name just a handful of the industries I have worked with. While all of these industries and organizations did have a sales, service, and marketing function, the applications I helped build had nothing to do with those domains and ranged from laboratory fridge management to risk management for a global sporting event.
