The stacking order determines which objects go in front of or behind other objects. In the Timeline panel, the topmost object is in front of any other objects. It means that if objects overlap, the topmost object covers the one(s) below it. The slide is always at the bottom of the stack, since it serves as the background:
- Use the Filmstrip to navigate to slide 3 of the Chapter04/takeTheTrain.cptx file.
- In the Timeline panel, click the topmost layer to select the corresponding image on the stage. You have selected the image with the train and the wind turbines. It is the topmost image of the stack. On the stage, it covers the other images that are behind it.
- In the Timeline panel, use your mouse to drag the top layer down. As you do so, look at the stage and notice that the train image now goes behind the other pictures.
- Still in the Timeline panel, right-click the image you just moved down and use the Arrange | Bring to Front...
