Falling leaves

Falling leaves are an enjoyable extra touch that can improve our still image or movie. Nevertheless, like the preceding special effects, this one needs to be used in the correct amount. Too much can ruin the scene, making the viewer focus more on leaves passing through the screen than actually focus on the 3D model.

Getting ready

For this recipe, you can just use a standard terrain to play with this effect. If you want to add a tree to your project, this effect can become more believable.

How to do it…

To make leaves fall in your scene, perform the following steps:

  1. From the left-hand side of the screen, select the Objects menu.

  2. Click on the Effects button to access these special effects.

  3. Use the Change object thumbnail to access the Lumion library.

  4. Once inside the Effects Library, click on the last tab called Leaves.

  5. Select the first object called leaves_01 and place it in your project.

  6. Click on the Edit properties menu and select the leaves to gain access to the Falling leaves Properties...
