Summary
In this chapter, we started with the basics of vSphere storage, understanding the difference between local and remote storage and also the different Storage Protocols supported by vSphere. We then learnt about the Pluggable Storage Architecture (PSA), a modular API framework that lets storage vendors build their own SATP or PSP plugins. We learnt how to configure access to Fiber Channel, iSCSI, and NFS storage. We learnt how to create and manage VMFS Datastores. Finally, we covered advanced topics such as Storage IO Control (SIOC) and Storage DRS. In the next chapter, we will cover some Advanced Infrastructure management topics.
