Out of office
Whenever we take annual leave, or we are away from the office, it is important to enable our Out of Office. When a colleague or customer sends us an e-mail, they get notified that we are not available with dates of when we are away, and more importantly, when we will be back in the office. In Lotus Notes 8.5, the notification of our absence is sent immediately.
I actually use my Out of Office not just for when I am on leave. I will enable it if I am training for the day as usually I can't get to my e-mails until later that day or the next day. I also enable it when I go to conferences or other business outings. We can edit our Out of Office to send a customized message for each occasion that we are away. The notification service sends replies only between the leaving and returning times we specify and sends one reply to each sender.
