Summary
SD-WAN has reached maturity, and each SD-WAN product in the market is going through a generational life cycle of its software every 6 to 18 weeks. On the surface, that statement is incongruent. Unfortunately, it is true that SD-WAN is now mature and is also constantly evolving. The best practice for both SD-WAN and SASE will be to follow the DevOps mindset in a constant improvement or iterative fashion. There is no perfect design but the pursuit of perfection through iteration, improvement, and optimization, continually, is the most valuable best practice in the market at this time.
The goal is to create or implement something that provides immediate value to the organization and then immediately improve upon its value. When CI/CD practices are culturally embedded in your organization, the optimal value is achieved.
