What was your career in before making the switch to cybersecurity?
Prior to becoming a security architect, I was a technical sales engineer focusing on IT solutions. I was in that field from 1988 to 2000, and it was in that role that I was introduced to IT. My first company decided to start selling network test equipment and I was tasked with understanding the tools. But, without even understanding what a network packet was, that was hard. So, I learned about network protocols and my career in IT took off. I have always been learning about new IT technologies and, as a result, I have always been ahead of the curve.
