Gateways and servers

Gateways and servers, although a subset of the Network Object category, refer to the Check Point gateways, clusters, VSX systems, their components (virtual systems, virtual routers, and virtual switches), and Check Point Hosts (management high availability, log, SmartEvent, or SmartEvent Correlation servers). Let's create our cluster CPCXL.

Activation keys

If you recall, during the FTW process for gateways, destined to become cluster members CPCM1 and CPCM2, in Secure Communication to Management Server prompt [1], we specified an activation key [2]:

We will use these keys in SmartConsole during the creation of the cluster and the addition of members gateways to it, as described in the next section.

Creating a gateway cluster

Gateways and clusters could be created in either Wizard or Classic Mode. Let's build one using Wizard Mode:
