To conclude this book, we will focus on application and endpoint security. In the previous chapters, we discussed and demonstrated methods using Cisco routers, switches, and Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) to improve the security posture of the network infrastructure in an organization. From the configuration of the Cisco routers, switches, and firewall, to implementation and verification, we ensured the network has improved its security to keep out existing and new threats.
Even though an organization has all its network security appliances fully configured and implemented, all it takes is a simple user to allow threat access inside the network. There's a proverb that says, "A chain is only as strong as its weakest link"
and "An organization is only as strong or powerful as its weakest person."
