Advanced utility analysis techniques and workflows for gravity networks

Now that we have utilized some advanced workflows for corridors, let’s follow this pattern and apply it to our project’s utilities, specifically gravity networks. As we move on to our advanced utility analysis capabilities, which are available to us within Autodesk Civil 3D, let’s go ahead and open up our Utility Model Start.dwg file located within our Civil 3D 2025 Unleashed\Chapter 4\Model location.

In this file, we’d recommend isolating only the gravity and pressure networks in the view for ease of navigation and analysis. To do so, you’ll want to right-click on each network in our TOOLSPACE | Prospector and pick the select option. Once all network objects have been selected, we’ll then right-click in model space, select Isolate Objects, and then select the Isolate Selected Objects option, as shown in Figure 3.21.
