Summary
Creating models that are ready to go from SketchUp to the printer (with only the briefest of stays in the slicer) is not difficult and is something that you should strive for as you develop your 3D printing workflow.
In this chapter, we saw what it takes to create a solid group and how to use SketchUp to establish real-world and printed scales. Additionally, we saw some examples of considerations, such as wall width and unsupported geometry, that can be addressed with a little bit of forethought and planning.
Up next, let’s model some print-ready models together in Chapter 5, Modeling from Scratch Using Native Editing Tools.
