Components of Cloud IAM

Cloud IAM shares many of the core concepts as traditional IAM, but the naming structure is slightly different. The key components of Cloud IAM are explained in the following subsections.

Members

Instead of entities, in Cloud IAM, we have members. This is the same concept as entities, it's just that Google Cloud calls them members, which makes sense – that's exactly what they are:

There are several types of members (the preceding screenshot shows some examples of each) and the following are brief explanations of them:

Google Accounts:
Google accounts can serve as identities and be used to verify and authenticate your administrators, developers, and other users of your application. Although this type of member is called a Google account, you don't necessarily have to use a gmail.com email address; other domains will work as well (additional verification...
