Summary
Looking back on the topics and activities introduced in this chapter, there are several takeaways that we should consider before progressing to the final chapter of this book. This practical application allowed us to strengthen our skills using tools we’ve seen before, such as the Ruler and Align tools, and it also allowed us to explore new challenges when designing prototypes with successful 3D printing strategies in mind.
On the web, there are countless catapult designs out there, as well as dozens of 3D files you could download to 3D-print. However, you may find that many of these designs, unlike the one we created in this chapter, are not suitable for easy 3D printing. As such, they may fail to perform as an effective product, causing headaches and challenges during the manufacturing, assembly, and testing stages.
As you continue to apply skills and abilities in creating 3D designs, incorporating tolerances, and combining different types of fits to make successful...
