Creating your folders

First, a bit of prep: create a folder on your computer or in Google Drive to store all of your materials. We always begin with the same three things:

• A folder for logos and branding
• A folder for images
• A text document of our outline

Here’s an example of the folder we use to start each project at Week of the Website:

Giving yourself this structure before you begin working will help you stay organized and prepared to build your site.

Gathering design inspiration

To begin finding inspiration, give yourself some time to explore. You’ll want to start thinking about websites that you like and don’t like, as well as graphic design, colors, and photography that inspire you.
