Squarespace’s most significant weaknesses

Hopefully it's clear that I'm a big fan of Squarespace. Still, even I can admit that some situations call for a different tool. The four biggest areas of weakness on this platform are in the areas of complex scalable commerce, highly custom animation and dynamic page elements, high volume blogging, and database needs. Let’s discuss each in detail:

Complex commerce: For clients who expect to sell high volumes or use distribution systems, complex coupon codes, or product customization, tools such as Shopify offer a better suite of tools to build a commerce business.
Customized animation and dynamic movement: Without using custom CSS, HTML, and JavaScript, Squarespace is limited in terms of the type of animation and dynamic movement that is available within the platform.
