Tailored for beginners with a foundational understanding of class definitions, module creation, and Python's inherent data structures, this book is your gateway to programming excellence. You’ll learn how to harness the potential of the standard library and key external projects like JupyterLab, Pydantic, pytest, and requests. You’ll also gain experience with enterprise-oriented methodologies, including unit and acceptance testing, and an agile development approach. Additionally, you’ll dive into the software development lifecycle, starting with a minimum viable product and seamlessly expanding it to add innovative features. By the end of this book, you’ll be armed with a myriad of practical Python projects and all set to accelerate your career as a Python programmer.
Who is this book for?
This book is for beginner-to-intermediate level Python programmers looking to enhance their resume by adding a portfolio of 12 practical projects. A basic understanding of the Python language and its aligned technologies is a must. The book helps you polish your Python skills and project-building prowess without delving into basic Python fundamentals.
What you will learn
Explore core deliverables for an application including documentation and test cases
Discover approaches to data acquisition such as file processing, RESTful APIs, and SQL queries
Create a data inspection notebook to establish properties of source data
Write applications to validate, clean, convert, and normalize source data
Use foundational graphical analysis techniques to visualize data
Build basic univariate and multivariate statistical analysis tools
Create reports from raw data using JupyterLab publication tools
The projects presented in the book are presented with a focus on how to approach them. The projects are not completed, they are meant to help the reader get started and finish on their own based on the approaches detailed in the book. This is not the normal programming book that provides all source code and then explains it – this requires more from the reader. Personally, I think this is a great approach. We learn to program by programming and this book will push you to the limit.

"Python Real World Objects" appears to provide a practical, project-based approach to mastering data handling in Python. It walks us through the full data analytics pipeline, from data acquisition to statistical modeling. With its focus on real-world applications and step-by-step projects, the book offers valuable insights to enhance our skills. The gradual project methodology used in the book, together with the incorporation of concepts such as online APIs and JSON Schema, helped me to become familiar with the complexities of processing data at the business level.

This book was a truly different learning experience. Rather than focusing on some principles with small projects, it is massive project after massive project. The approach to building nd learning items is awesome, and could be an excellent reference for those developing exclusively in Python. Even without that emphasis, the access to the GitHub pieces to explore and template. It always helps me to be able to look through how others solve problems, and this did exactly that for me. If the hardest part of coding for you is getting started with that template, you could definitely use this book.

Overall, it is a great book! Not for beginners, this book is for experienced programmers who want to improve their skills by completing professional-level Python projects. It’s also for developers who need to display their skills by demonstrating a portfolio of work. The included projects require a wide variety of skills, including software and data architecture, design, Python programming and test design. You can download the code bundle for the book on GitHub.This book is all about data handling. The great and unique feature of the book is that it provides big project after another big project. Starting with Acquiring Data From Sources, the first six projects will cover projects to acquire data for analytic processing from a variety of sources. Next topic Inspect and Survey includes five projects to inspect data to make sure it’s usable, and diagnose odd problems, outliers, and exceptions. The general analytics pipeline moves on to Cleaning, Converting, and Normalizing. There are eight projects that tackle these closely-related problems. The useful results begin with Presenting Summaries. There’s a lot of variability here, so only two project ideas included. This book winds up with two small projects covering some basics of Statistical Modeling. Author encourages you to continue your study of Python applications in the data science realm.Completion of the projects will place you on another level in Python. Enjoy the challenge in every project!

Unprofessional content formatting/layout. Repetitive content. Incomplete code provided. It seems like the text has been automatically generated and then adapted or revised.I don't understand the other reviews, with 5 stars. They encouraged me to buy this book, but now I feel deceived.
Steven Lott has been programming since computers were large, expensive, and rare. Working for decades in high tech has given him exposure to a lot of ideas and techniques, some bad, but most are helpful to others. Since the 1990s, Steven has been engaged with Python, crafting an array of indispensable tools and applications. His profound expertise has led him to contribute significantly to Packt Publishing, penning notable titles like "Mastering Object-Oriented," "The Modern Python Cookbook," and "Functional Python Programming." A self-proclaimed technomad, Steven's unconventional lifestyle sees him residing on a boat, often anchored along the vibrant east coast of the US. He tries to live by the words “Don't come home until you have a story.”

Where can I send feedback about an Early Access title?
If you have any feedback about the product you're reading, or Early Access in general, then please fill out a contact form here and we'll make sure the feedback gets to the right team.
Can I download the code files for Early Access titles?
We try to ensure that all books in Early Access have code available to use, download, and fork on GitHub. This helps us be more agile in the development of the book, and helps keep the often changing code base of new versions and new technologies as up to date as possible. Unfortunately, however, there will be rare cases when it is not possible for us to have downloadable code samples available until publication.
When we publish the book, the code files will also be available to download from the Packt website.
How accurate is the publication date?
The publication date is as accurate as we can be at any point in the project. Unfortunately, delays can happen. Often those delays are out of our control, such as changes to the technology code base or delays in the tech release. We do our best to give you an accurate estimate of the publication date at any given time, and as more chapters are delivered, the more accurate the delivery date will become.
How will I know when new chapters are ready?
We'll let you know every time there has been an update to a course that you've bought in Early Access. You'll get an email to let you know there has been a new chapter, or a change to a previous chapter. The new chapters are automatically added to your account, so you can also check back there any time you're ready and download or read them online.
I am a Packt subscriber, do I get Early Access?
Yes, all Early Access content is fully available through your subscription. You will need to have a paid for or active trial subscription in order to access all titles.
How is Early Access delivered?
Early Access is currently only available as a PDF or through our online reader. As we make changes or add new chapters, the files in your Packt account will be updated so you can download them again or view them online immediately.
How do I buy Early Access content?
Early Access is a way of us getting our content to you quicker, but the method of buying the Early Access course is still the same. Just find the course you want to buy, go through the check-out steps, and you’ll get a confirmation email from us with information and a link to the relevant Early Access courses.
What is Early Access?
Keeping up to date with the latest technology is difficult; new versions, new frameworks, new techniques. This feature gives you a head-start to our content, as it's being created. With Early Access you'll receive each chapter as it's written, and get regular updates throughout the product's development, as well as the final course as soon as it's ready. We created Early Access as a means of giving you the information you need, as soon as it's available. As we go through the process of developing a course, 99% of it can be ready but we can't publish until that last 1% falls in to place. Early Access helps to unlock the potential of our content early, to help you start your learning when you need it most. You not only get access to every chapter as it's delivered, edited, and updated, but you'll also get the finalized, DRM-free product to download in any format you want when it's published. As a member of Packt, you'll also be eligible for our exclusive offers, including a free course every day, and discounts on new and popular titles.
