Managing Teams Channel Settings
In Microsoft Teams, each channel has specific settings that can be accessed by selecting the more options ellipsis (…) next to the channel’s name and then choosing Manage channel. This option enables team owners to customize how interactions are managed within individual channels, encompassing aspects such as moderation and analytics.
Channel moderation setting allows team owners to dictate who can start new posts and who can reply to existing ones. For the General channel of a team, moderation settings can be adjusted to either allow anyone to post messages, allow anyone to post with a notification alert (useful for large teams), or restrict posting solely to channel owners. These options are shown in Figure 7.7. This setup helps manage the flow of communication and keeps it relevant and orderly.
