Sametime Unified Telephony
As we mentioned previously, SUT adds additional telephony features on top of a Sametime 8.5.2 installation. SUT is an entirely new Sametime product that shipped alongside Sametime 8.5.2. Although it complements the standard Sametime 8.5.2 Standard services, it is licensed separately and is not a requirement for use of audio and video services within Sametime 8.5.2.
The SUT solution is a combination offering of software, hardware, and services from IBM and a small number of third-party telephony partners. It is designed to connect multiple high-end private branch exchange (PBX) and telephony systems in use at a single company. IBM often demonstrates the SUT software by showing a Sametime user transferring calls between their headset, desk phone, and mobile phone as the client dynamically detects the user's location and determines the best routing for the call.
